Property to rent in Late Campaneta

Hello Chris, just a few things to look out for. New laws have been introduced re holiday lets in Valencia (similar rules throughout Spain) which mean that there must be a Tourist Licence in place for the property. Despite this, many properties are still being advertised without it. If you book one of these you risk turning up to find that the authorities have caught up with the owners, closed it down, and you will have nowhere to stay and will probably have lost any money paid. Always ask for the licence number and ask when the licence was issued as the rules, although voluntary beforehand, only became law this year.
I believe a significant number of owners are, or were, unaware, or were told that it was nothing to worry about and it is currently taking about 6 months to get this licence which comes with all manner of obligations on the owner. Many licences are being refused due to size of rooms, or being in a residential area, or being in a block above the 2nd floor without a lift and so on.

Hundreds and hundreds of properties for sale and still more being built. Never, ever, ever use the solicitor recommended by the estate agent. Personally, I wouldn´t risk buying anything off plan as far too many incidences of builders going bankrupt and not completing construction.

Have a great time and it is so wise to see things in winter as well as high season before you decide. Can´t help on finding a rental for you but while you are out here you may want to have a look at the Costa Blanca News and Euro Weekly, the ex-pat free newspapers, there could be some advertised there.
