Hi Pat, you could be fined and/or banned from the Schengen zone for a period.

You have your passport stamped and/or scanned when you enter Spain and stamped/scanned when you leave Spain. If you are found to have an overstay you could be fined and banned from entering the EU for a period of time.

Try it.......

You wouldn't normally come to the attention of the Spanish authorities until you leave & re enter the country.

If you don't intend to leave then I doubt if anyone is going to kick you out. I'm sure that many non residents have outstayed the 90 days and are still here. However, things like health cover could become problematic.

No, not as a UK national with UK residency. If you've stayed 90 days you'll have to wait around 90 days until you can return to the Schengen area. Cyprus is quite nice this time of year.

Cyprus is not part of the Schengen zone so if someone is looking for a bit more sun in the winter and they have exhausted their 90 days in the zone, Cyprus can be the solution.
