TIE appointment

Yes, they're not supposed to process your application until your card has actually expired. My partner and I had ours done in Benidorm yesterday too. We found the staff very nice and helpful. Glad they sorted you out.

I knew it wouldn't help, but I showed the official a copy of the Spanish State Boletin page which states that the beneficiaries of the Withdrawal Agreement can exchange their temporary card for a permanent one as soon as five years continous residence has been reached even if the currently held card has not reached its expiry date, but the computer wouldn't let him continue so that was it.  But we were so relieved when he said come back tomorrow. 

Well done for finally getting it sorted. Annoying, isn't it? It's so great here with the laid back life, the wondering what to do so pop to the beach all Wednesday afternoon, having an extend 4 hour lunch on Fridays, going to restaurants and not being hassled to leave once you've finished your meal. Or even thinking I've got that little job to do round the house, but what the heck, next week will do.

And then you try and do something that involves Spanish red tape. 4 trips to the town hall to eventually see someone about renewing the padron and then having to go back because you'd left one piece of paper off your list. Waiting months for a TIE appointment and reading you can do it 3 months before it expires only to be told uh, no, we have a different system so it might run out today but you have to wait until tomorrow.

Or losing you NIE piece of paper but you can't get a new one, even though it's the same number, until you've told the police, make an appointment at some remote National police station, wait months for the appointment and then told you should have done it online except you can't have a cl@ve without your NIE support number and there isn't one either because they didn't put one on or you've lost it so can't see the support number.

Getting to old age and qualifying for an S1 and people saying just go to your health centre only to find you have to make an appointment with INSS, get another piece of paper to replace the S1 and then go to the health centre weeks after you'd asked. Change your driving license? Guess what! Register the car you've just spent a fortune in tax to bring into the country? Guess what!

Still, it's what it's all about, so they tell me.

I'm not sure your post is in response to my own about my daughter's TIE appointment or to some other matter, but to answer your question, no I have not personally lived in the UK with a passport which is not British, but I live with two people who have done so. What advice are you seeking in relation to non UK passport holders living in 'England'?
