We have a villa just outside Calpe, but not totally isolated. it actually belongs to my mother who is now in a Residencia and wants to sell her house for the obvious reason. it’s quite spacious but with a small garden. If this could be of interest to you, perhaps you would like to pm me and we could talk further.

That was me complaining about the noise, we had been to Calpe several times , stayed with friends in a Villa which of course is quiet, and even stayed right on the beach front another time. When we found our apartment right by the rock on the other side of the marina we couldn’t believe we had found exactly what we wanted ,and although we never heard a noise when we were there ,because I guess we were there In May, many people on hotels.com review of apartments that they have rented, and several complained about that very building and how people leave at 7 AM and create a major noise. However, After posting and asking if other people have been disturbed by noise, some people were pretty rude ,and their replies like ....I should’ve known because this is a beach town, and agents won't tell you because all they want to do is sell.....We didn't even consider noise, and did not ask, but funnily enough the selling agent unprompted said "This is a very quiet area, you are in the cul de sac and right by the Penon national Park!! But if you really want to be on the beach front and near the promenade do go at night and during the day. We used Diane Bowers, who had also helped other friends of ours, and she has been a great source of information during these Covid times. She only showed us places that were within our range, and she made sure we had plenty of appointments over a 3 day period....she was honest, and advised us on a lawyer who was also amazing (and it was not her best buddy as someone suggested.) She collected our keys set up all our accounts, and we trusted her implicitly . Ultimately you have to trust someone when buying, and I am giving you honest feedback

We have visited in August, May, and March, so have not been there in the height of summer season. It was busy, but I would say not hectic! We have travelled to other areas nearby on our visits, and I would say the bigger, more populated areas were definitely busier. We had no problems finding chairs and umbrellas on the beach ( we now have our own), and there was no waiting in line for restaurants. It is a lovely town, friendly people both European and Spanish, and shopping is very adequate. Valencia is not too far away, ( 1.5 hrs) for more extensive shopping and bigger city/restaurant experience..... Benidorm has good beaches and more shopping ( 25-30 minutes away) . We love going to Altea late afternoon, visiting the small shops and eating dinner...next door town (15 mins,). Our friends tell us late June, July and August are the busy summer months. We did not want a villa, too much upkeep, and an apartment appealed to us - close up and go . Have fun in your search , Les

If you want a realestate agent you can trust look out for your best interests i can recommend a swedish agency called husmanhagberg located in Denia. Ask for Cecilia Martinsson or Leo Lopez. We bought through them last year and i must say that they go far and beyond what you expect from a realestate agent. They have helped us with everything. Viewings, bank and lawyer contacts, insurance, getting in contact with electricity and water suppliers etc. They really deliver the whole package. And yes they both speak English :)
