Hi guys, I hope you are all keeping well and starting to enjoy the change in the weather. Can anyone recommend a removal company that can collect from the Isle of Man and deliver to Calpe please.

Having just had a quick search, there appears to be an outfit called Jamie’s Removals in IOM, who say they will undertake international removals. Suggest you look them up and contact them. They seem to have good reviews.

Contact Howells of Formentera, page on Facebook. Highly recommended!

Thank you for your reply. I started the search on the iom but the time scale and totally stupid price quotes have made me question what other companies are out there that this forum could recommend from your moves over. somehow £26,000. seems silly expensive to me when I haven't got a huge amount to bring over.

Thank you so much for your help I will contact them on Monday. I am not planning on moving everything over just a couple of pieces of furniture and the rest is all boxed up but I have had silly quotes from the removal companies on the island. Thank you again.

26K?

What are you moving? The actual house itself?

That can't possibly be right and I'd phone them.

LOL, that was my response. I have phoned them, they have confirmed it and it isn't even half a van's worth to bring over. The island is like the hotel California, you can definitely check in but they don't like you checking out.

Would you be better moving it to a storage unit  on the mainland and then sending it onwards to Spain or even hiring a van and transporting it to the mainland  yourself to a transport hub.

That was going to be my suggestion - if it is as the OP suggests just half a vans worth, I'd be minded to either hire a van or put it in the back of an estate car and do the journey myself.

If the best priced removal firm was £26k, I'd be minded to get a nice van and break the journey up in some quality hotels. I'd probably still have change out of £10k and my stuff would be guaranteed to be well looked after if I were the driver!

Email or ring  Silverdale Transport - Kevin - they do the Spain/UK UK/Spain runs and always come highly recommended. If you can get the items to the mainland I am sure they can advise you on pick-up options.
