Hello All,

would welcome any advice/costs on moving household contents from UK (Bath) to Calpe, recommended transport services?

There should be several perfectly reputable removers in the bath area. The best idea is to contact about 3 or 4 of them and ask for an estimate; the costs will depend basically on the amount of stuff you are bringing and what house size is? Three bedroom, four bedroom? Are you bringing everything?

As a rough guide, we obtained estimates varying wildly between 3K and 8K plus vAT for the contents of a large three bedroom house, excluding all white goods and beds.

Do not choose the least expensive as there will be reasons for this, especially if it is noticeably cheaper. Decide whether you want to pack or whether you simply leave the house and say ‘do it’!!!! It’s much easier to have the professionals pack - i was amazed by how quickly they could do this - and it also means that their insurance will cover everything if they pack it, which it won’t necessarily if you do it. don’t be tempted to penny pinch by not paying their insurance quote, I guarantee you will need to claim!

I Moved over recently with a few boxes of real personal stuff and some suitcases of clothes , all the big stuff just left behind and bought new in Spain . Possibly better and cheaper than humping loads of old fur, new home new life new stuff etc
