If by "Christmas dinner" you mean turkey and all the trimmings you might be better off cancelling Calpe and heading for Blackpool.  Or Benidorm.

As i understand it, I think the Spanish have a big meal on Christmas Eve and Christmas day is quite a quiet affair.  I've been going to Calpe on and off for 40 years and was in Calpe for Christmas last year.  I decided that I would go up the Penon de Ifach on Christmas day.  And it seems that this is what half of the population of Calpe do on that day!  The view from the top is magnificent.

There will be plenty of restaurants open in town, at the port and along the Fossa beach - though some will be closed for the winter.

The town will be decorated beautifully with fairy lights - it's well worth a wander around the old town at night - it will be very quiet and very beautiful.

If you are there for New Years Eve there will be a fireworks display at midnight - everybody gathers at the church in the old town.  Don't forget to take 12 grapes per person!
