Hi All,

We want to have fire-resistant tiles fixed to the wall behind our wood burning stove. We’re losing too much heat through the wall.

Can you recommend anyone please?

We live just outside Castalla,

Thanks in advance,

Jeremy

Fire  resistant  tiles  will  not  retain  heat, they used to  prevent a Fire,  Most  buildings  in  Costa Blanca  are built  and  designed  to  be cool,  not  to  retain  heat,  There is no  insulation  in  Residential  buildings in  Spain,   The  newer  building  have some  insulation.

If  you wish  to retain  heat you  should  look  at  getting  property  insulated,   not a  cheap   😉

I've no experience as my log burner was built into the existing fireplace and so there was no need for any tiling - aesthetic or otherwise.

It looks like the key thing to consider is the material:

I doubt anyone would want to use reflector foil that you might use behind a radiator as I suspect that would be unsightly but I also probably not suitable for the significantly higher temparatures a fire would reach.

Sorry, I don't know anyone in your area to recommend but you could take a look at the attached to get an idea of options.

It's from the UK but the principles will be the same with any wood burner.

If no-one on the forum comes up with a business they can recommend I suggest you google wood burner sales/installations nearby, then go along to discuss what they can offer.

Rgds,
