Nearest hospital
Can anyone tell me the nearest hospital to castalla with an emergency department. I've fractured my wrist and am going to castalla on Friday 9th February. Hospital here says I need a review in Spain the day I arrive. TIA.

The town hall website say the hospital is at Alcoy:
HOSPITAL VIRGEN DE LOS LIRIOS
Polígon Caramanxel, s/n
03804 Alcoy
Depending on what sort of review is needed, the Castalla medical centre might be able to do it:

Thank you for that Jim. I fractured my wrist and I'm in Ireland. The hospital won't let me travel unless I bring my xray with me as its needs a review after 10days.

In that case the hospital seems logical, as it sounds like you'll need another X-ray for comparison purposes, which the health centre may not be able to do. The only problem might be persuading the hospital to carry out what they'd probably regard as a non-urgent procedure, which might not be covered by your EHIC.

O dear Jim, not sure what to do. They put a brace on it but the type of fracture it is needs a further review and they would only allow me to go to Spain if I got the review done there. I don't mind paying, just not sure where best to go.

The awkward bit is needing a review as soon as you get here. With a decent time-scale, the health centre might give you a temporary health card, and a doctor could then refer you to the hospital, but this obviously wouldn't happen quick enough.
Taking your point about paying, I don't know your area, so you'd have to do some Googling to try and find the nearest private provider. If you'll have transport and can get down to Alicante, then the following are good:
Hospital Vithas Internacional Medimar
https://www.vithas.es/Alicante/Home?lang=en-GB
Perhaps you could contact them and ask if they can do what you need when you need it, and of course ask for a price.
If the price is too high, then you'd have to think about changing your flight and having it done in Ireland.
Good luck!
Thank you so much Jim for all that information. I really appreciate you taking the time
