We have female feral cat who needs to be spayed I will catch her and transport her to a vet to have her spayed at no cost to me does anyone know which vet does this service?

At one time vets volunteered to fix wild animals does this service still exist?

Hello

All the cats in my area - 28(- all speyed & neutured  one year ago) went to Veterpet in Guardamar but a Torrevieja Town Hall  related Charity - Proyecto CES Gatos, took care of all finances but at a reduced rate.....I'm a registered feeder foe this charity. If you ask at the veterinary clini there may be a reduced rate available.

Cheers

Thanks for the info, I have tried both vets in Catral, not much empathy here, I would have been surprised if there was.   Mind you they won't put the female cat to sleep, so really she has a hard life ahead of her one litter after another.   Next time we are in Guardemar will check out your suggestion..

Hello Durango

The relief I felt after the sterlization programme was completed was wonderful.

One young female had 2 litters a year for the 1st 5years of her life ( always close to where I live because I fed them) I feed the last 5 that she had (in my garden) 1st week of lockdown.,,,plus a couple of others. That mother cat is always around  though & living her best life now & its so good to see. Ive been registered with the town hall since 2018.

I really hope you  succeed for her.....

Cheers

Hello Elinspain,

So nice to hear of your experience, I have spent this morning phoning different vets, found one in Almoradi who will fix feral cats at a reduced rate, I eally did not want to get to get into this expense it's expensive enough feeding 6 feral cats 50€ to fix one  is 5 weeks food  which is all I was happy to do.    This started last year when Mother Siamese dropped off 4 kittens to go with our two other feral cats and so we are in this fix.    We coukd do with a PDSA or. cats Protection,  what really gets to me is Vetapet won't put down a healthy cat!!! So we have to wait till she gets sick, don't understand that.
