Hi

Have you tried asking your supplier, or looked for their website?

Cheers

All BBC Channels have gone to BBCHD now, also ITV will change to ITVHD. You will have to search down your list for all HD Channels.

The BBC will continue with SD channels until March 2024...but there will be no regional variations with these SD channels, as all regional variations will be in HD come the end of next week (even if the regional studio is not HD ready!).

There is nothing confirmed at all about ITV going HD only and closing all their SD channels yet...just speculation based if "if BBC can do it, we can do it",

Has anyone noticed that ITV 1,2,3 and 4 have gone really shaky just recently ?

I use a Humax box in one room and a fairly basic "GT Media" freesat box in another. Both have been fine for as long as I can remember and even now all the channels apart from  BBC's / ITV's have been - and still are perfect.

I know both the aforementioned are changing over to HD, (did I read somewhere recently that they are moving to "Astra G" satellite or something like that or am I dreaming) ?

I just wondering if anyone has any useful advice, or is now the time to start thinking about streaming.

I have used TVMucho in the past when I've been travelling and they're quite good.

Regards

Gary

On Sky and Freesat boxes ITV 2 3 and 4 have defaulted to HD.

On Sky boxes the SD versions are still available in the 800´s. The SDs have been removed from the Freesat guide.

The ITV HD channels are some of the weakest frequencies. And needs the correct size dish and LNB both correctly aligned. A few millimieters out can result in the loss of these channels.

The ITVHD channels have pretty much always been on Astra 2G, so nope they have not changed satellites. And no changes since about Nov last year when these three channels went free to air.

Hi

Unfortunately these changes by BBC are causing major issues, people on 1.4 dishes around the torrevieja area are either going to need to change up to 1.8 metre or go down the IPTV route.

I know of some sat installers are now not doing any installations until they are comfortable in signal strengths.

Sky boxes tend to be less effective at signal strength over here because they are supposed to be in UK with a lot stronger signal. So sat dishes at 1.4 could be a thing of the past. We have been here bfore.

Good luck to you all.

On the subject of big dishes.. I have a really, really big one sitting in my garden in pieces looking for a new home.  I have all new nuts and bolts to reassemble it.

It measures 2.3m +/- a few mill. and I would be happy to take €95 for it.  You will need to come and collect it and it will need to be transported vertically as it will be to wide for the road laid flat.

I bought it because I was loosing channels and thought a bigger dish would help.  It was, however, just that my existing dish that needed re-aligning.

I look forward to all the messing about with BBC on 101 coming to an end.  At the moment I have nothing.

Please send me a PM if you want the dish.

"I look forward to all the messing about with BBC on 101 coming to an end.  At the moment I have nothing."

All changes were completed this week.

There may be a shuffling around of some channels, like for BBC One South HD which is still on a temporary frequency, and BBC Radio channels (which are on a tricky to receive frequency also, with the SD BBC channels) but no idea when.

So as long as your dish is of the right size, and aligned correctly, you should have BBC HD channels from other regions...as they are pretty much all done and dusted now.

Where I am, I have noticed a small drop in db when the BBC frequencies were reconfigured from SD to HD... so if you are unable to get these signals, perhaps it goes to show how "on the limit" some of these dish installs in your area are...like "molloyp9" sort of mentioned

Thanks again for the info.  I am on BBC South so that will explain things.
I got BBC1 on 101 intermittently until a week or so ago then even that disappeared.  My dish that I have used since I came here 10 years ago is 1.8m so should be OK for this area.  It has been realigned three times in that period. It is concreted in about 4ft deep on a very thick steel tube (all I could get at the time).

Sadly the chap that did the realignment is now unobtainable. A new contact in this area would be nice.

So, once again I'll wait till BBC1 reappears at proper strength.  Fortunately there is not much on there that I watch any more as it's gone down the tubes so much in recent years.  Modern 'comedy' does not raise much of a titter in this house.
