Hello everyone;

I have heard different stories about Catral; some of you are saying, it has been hit by flooding, some say, not as much as other areas.

I am attaching an image of the place we liked, when we were there in person, early October this year. The house in this subdivision has been sold, so no big deal anymore to us, but I would like to know if this is a bad area in terms of flooding, because of one of real estate agents said, this place is higher then the rest of Catral, but then, this forum tells me something different. I don't even know, if this is still Catral...

Where to buy our house, that is still our huge dilemma, trying to consider all aspects. We don't want to be in a big city anymore, but again, not too far from it.

Thank you

Mia

P.S. I have posted this inquiry last night, but I pasted it in the wrong section. Thank you, all, who redirected me

Which section you post in shouldn't matter as all appear under "show latest posts" which is the default and I saw your post yesterday.

 It's only if a user only actively selects a section or town that filtering occurs and then only posts to specific sections or towns will be displayed.

If you are not signed up to the property section you can't reply on the open forum. At least I can't!

If you saw the property in October and it was OK then then it was not affected by the floods as they occurred in September.   First time the weather has been as bad as this in many years.   I have lived here for 14 years and not seen anything like it before.

And it may not be seen again. but it may be...we talk to people who live there for that reason; all the feedback here is very valuable to us; we don't want to make mistakes, or at least not too many...

We live on the west coast/Canada where the huge earthquake is predicted. It may happen soon, may be years to come...We cannot see through mother nature.

We were involved in the floods n catral  but only due to the water gates being opened not though rain . It happened I was told at least 70 years ago . Yes we do get heavy rain fall in one day and does flood our garden a bit but soon goes after one day . So don't worry this is what is happing all over the world I'm sorry to say.  Catral is a great place to live and it hardly rains . Don't let this disaster turn you off yes it was Terrible for us and many more but we're still happy to stay . Good luck

It was also because the River Segura broke through it’s banks in about 3 places, not all to do with the dam in Murcia Province.    One of the results was also that the bridge between Almoradí and Algorfa was badly damaged and took several weeks to repair.

I am attaching the picture; please let me know if it's not showing the area and will go back to the google map.

We were told people built walls around the properties to protect themselves from the flooding. Is that true? Has that been hepful?
