Can anyone give me some advice please. When we visited Catral in August we had several appointments at Sabadell bank to open an account. We provided all the documents required and signed all the paperwork but have heard nothing. I have tried emailing the branch but have yet to receive a reply. We are wanting to purchase property which we can’t until we have a bank account. Has anyone else experienced this? Or maybe you can recommend another bank.

You could try Bankia, not as expensive to run as Sabadell.
They have a standard current account and a no charges one called Cuenta On.
Cuenta On may have limitations, check with Bankia that it would handle your property money but the standard one certainly would.
Have you thought of applying online ? Failing this here is their English speaking helpline number, they are usually very helpful and hopefully you may be able to complete over the phone.

Thank you. I had tried before online without any luck.

In your original post you also asked for alternative Banks which I provided, Sabadell do not appear to be moving things forward for you, why not just open another account ? Hence the english speaking helpline number.
I work abroad alot and have opened account in many countries. Spanish banks are the worst.. My advice use one of the new online banks.. I personally use N26.com You will need a tax number from Spain (Do not use a UK address as you'll get an account in £..) I put many thousands of Euros through my account never had an issue, its free and direct debits... Beaware the charges are high if you don't stick to their boundaries.. Otherwise its brilliant.

Thank you. Was hoping to open an account to make it easier applying for a mortgage. I have a Santander account in Valencia which my lawyer opened a few years back but this is used as a probate account and I don’t like that I’m charged monthly.
I will get a spainish friend to ring sabadell and try and find out what is going on.
