Hello Heatray,
One method I use, which also serves as a backup device as 'c:\' drives are notorious for failing with the operating system on them, is to use an external hard disk drive (HDD) which for 2 Gigabytes is still relatively cheap and available from MediaMarkt here (how much data do you have do you think), then AllWaySynch software which is free initially. Set that up to push the files from wherever you store them, don't forget your bookmarks too by picking up up the users root folder to the new external USB connected drive.
I helped an ex work colleague do this last week and once set up, it is a dream. Others may have different choices.
As to Skype, it is hard to trouble-shoot without looking at the settings. Does it have to be skype or how about Zoom or Microsoft Teams? I only ask because the company I've just retired from switched from Skype as it was less stable. It can hog bandwidth too.
We could screenshare if I send you a Teams or Zoom invite.
Can't promise that I could fix it, but happy to help out. I was more Cyber related but ....
Best regards,
Dave (still a kid) 'n Jules
