A total of 141 towns in Valencia recorded 1,187 cases of coronavirus in just four days

The coronavirus has affected 141 municipalities in the last four days. According to the latest update of data by localities of the Regional Ministry of Universal Health and Public Health, a total of 1,187 cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in this period in the territory of Valencia.

Valencia continues to be the most affected, with 436 cases in the last four days. Behind Valencia is Alicante, with 54 new cases, followed by Torrent, in l'Horta de València, with 53 new cases.

It should also be noted that three localities have registered positive cases for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic. These are Penàguila, in the region of l'Alcoià (Alicante); Rotglà i Corberà, on the coast (Valencia); and Vilar de Canes, in the region of Alt Maestrat (Castelló).

Burriana, in La Plana Baixa (Castelló), has one less infection due to a reassignment of cases. That is, the positive one would have been assigned to this town, but this person would not be from that municipality.

RayD. Thanks again for the latest update.

The update does not make for happy reading . More restrictions must surely be reintroduced to halt the Spanish 'home grown' rise of infections .

Can you imagine how bad it would be with a load of tourists from outside as well!

At least with the home grown problems the various autonomous communities can get together to come to grips with it.

Hence the 11 new measures which came into force at various times this week.

I notice that Murcia have introduced a 50% capacity on cars carrying people outside your household, so I wonder if that will now become countrywide.

The more you stay at home and meet less people, the safer you are.

We are still going out for my birthday though right 🤞🏼 You’re bringing 60 candles aren’t you, I’ll bring the fire extinguisher!

On a more serious note it’s getting worse but we expected that, everyone has to take it seriously, la Zenia Boulevard is awash with people with their masks round their necks, not eating or drinking just walking! It boils my blood honestly. Why won’t people just put the bloody things on, yes it’s hot, yes you don’t want to but it’s not pleasant for anyone, I wish there was a better way to police it, the security guards are telling people but I think a fine would hit a little harder. Harsh but it has to be done, I’ve started going at 10am if I need anything, not many people out and you can do a quick army sos run and get it done quickly. I don’t want to mix with the people who think the masks are awful!

Wouldn't miss your birthday for the world. Are you sure 60 candles is enough? 🤣

We tend to stay around our own town, except for special occasions 😀 and go to a couple of bars where the (Spanish) old boys and families hang out. Social distancing is good, mascarillas are worn and today they've even obeyed the smoking ban.

There's a long way to go yet, but gets even longer if people don't comply and wear mascarillas and observe social distancing.

I’ve seen good social distancing in the Spanish bars when I’ve nipped in for a coffee between clients, in fact one old boy invited me to okay cards with them, I was gutted that I was in a hurry, probably for the best as I’m hopeless at card games!

La Zenia Boulevard is the worst I’ve seen, also habaneras is pretty bad. Nobody policing it at all.

60 candles will be just be enough! A couple more for good measure wouldn’t go a miss though 😂

RayD says " Can you imagine how bad it would be with a load of tourists from outside as well "

That is  making an unconfirmed assumption the Tourists, or, at least the Foreign ones, are carrying the virus,  which has not been verified anywhere, as far as I know RayD 😏

Sadly people are behaving as if the pandemic is a thing of the past and seem to think its OK to ignore FCO advice by travelling to Spain. I would like nothing more than to be in Guardamar right now but wouldn't dream of travelling against the advice of a health body. The Spanish and British healthcare systems have been pushed to the limit and we are still in the eye of the storm. I'm not sure if its ignorance or just selfishness.

Must just have been when you were at the Boulevard, when we have been there everyone we saw were wearing masks correctly and hand sanatising on entry to individual shops.
