I believe you only need to isolate for the length of your stay

You can go for however long you want, as long as the address you give is where you are isolating, whether it is for 1 day or 14 days, obviously you have to travel to and from that address, even using public transport and picking up any essential items on your way, don’t forget to fill in the travel forms online and print up for your own piece of mind.

Good morning,

So you are planning to go to the U.K. for 4 days so presumably it’s to see your family.

Just remember, each household is only allowed to have 6 people at one time, if there are more than that in the family then I expect that’s acceptable but we can’t have more than 6 in our homes in general.

Hopefully, that isn’t the case and you plan to visit for a few days. Perfect, you can catch up and chat ‘til your heart’s content but you aren’t allowed to go out of the house/ address unless going back to the airport to catch your flight.

The big plus is that you don’t have to quarantine when you return to Spain. Enjoy your visit.

Hi Raydar, I’ve just got back from Spain (Friday a.m.) I was contacted by Track and Trace on Saturday morning and I asked them “can I travel back to Spain within the 14 day self isolation period? “ they informed me that yes I could travel back to Spain, but while in the uk I have to follow the rules. When I return to the uk the 14 day isolation period will start again.  All the previous replies are correct but I thought I’d tell you of my personal exp

Hi Raydar, it will depend where in the UK you are travelling to. Certain  areas have local restrictions in place ie we live in Birmingham and we, along with neighbouring Solihull and Sandwell currently Have local restrictions in place one of which is no-one outside of our household is allowed to come into our house or garden, even our children/grandchildren who are within our “bubble”. Up to six of us can however meet up at a pub or restaurant. You really need to ask whoever you are staying with about any local restrictions. We all need to do our bit to kick this virus into touch.

Does one need to isolate in Uk if they are going back to work there for a couple of weeks, there is so much conflicting advice regarding wether you are resident here or non resident.

It has nothing to do with what type of residency you have, only certain professions allow you not to self isolate, check out the uk government website.

It does not matter if you are a Spanish Resident or not, when you get to the UK you must self isolate for 14 days before you can go anywhere or do anything.

Someone will phone you to ensure you are keeping to the rules
