We're flying back to UK from Alicante on sunday 21st (family of 4). I'm booking covid tests with Imed. The PCR tests are 110 € each but the Antigen tests are only 40€. Will the Antigen tests be accepted at the airport/borders (states on gov.uk that Antigen tests are accepted). But i'm worried about Alicante airport not letting us fly. But if i can save 280€ it makes sense to get the Antigen.

I flew back to the U.K. yesterday. We had Antigen tests, done at IMED and everything was fine.🤪🥂

Mandyl48 - please update us with how you get on as we were wondering about this and paid for the pcr tests to be on the safe side, but will have to travel to uk again in May/June - thanks Sharon
Hi I flew back to UK yesterday from Alicante with Ryanair. I had a rapid antigen test done at the pharmacist in El Raso on Friday, at a cost of 40e. This is accepted for travel to UK. You need to book your test ASAP as they are quite busy, but bear in mind the test needs to be done up to 48hrs before travel. We were emailed our results within a couple of hours. Wife & I had Antigen tests at IMED (40 euros each). Had no problems at Heathrow airport when we returned on 21st Feb. The antigen test is one of three types acceptable by UK. Can't understand why people pay 110 euros for the PCR, fine if that's what they want. Good luck and happy journey.

When you arrive in the uk you have to self isolate and have 2 more Covid-19 tests booked here before you leave.
When are where do you book the test here to have them in the uk.

You book the day 2 and day 8 tests on the gov.uk website. Mine were £190. You have to book them before you fill in the passenger locator form as you need to put the booking number for the tests on the form.

I paid £175 each, the cheapest on the approved list. I’d suggest you don’t order them until you’ve had your test result in Spain; just in case! Costly enough 🤪🥂
