I am a Spanish Resident with a Spanish driving licence. My brother has said I can borrow his motorhome which is English registered and has a valid MOT and is taxed. He lives in England and has added me as named drivers on his insurance policy?  Is it legal for me to drive it in Spain on my Spanish Driving licence?

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Thanks Ray, I read on the N332 (Facebook page run by Guardia Civil) site that it was allowed as long as the vehicle was legal in the UK.

I guess an exception would be if it was a hire car brought over from the UK (possibly)?

The Law says also that you can drive a foreign reg. vehicle if the owner travels with you. Police can be strict and cannot, one never knows. If you are nice to them and say that the owner (your bro) waits for you it's likely you get away. Or distract them asking for directions or tell them how efficient they do their job, at the end they're humans. Or the vehicle is yours and the name in your Spaish driver license was taken wrong. In Spain almost nothing is what it appears to be, live and be happy.
