I’m looking for some thing to extend the ‘white chute’ which juts out of the patio/solarium wall.  Did think about a ridge tile or maybe share guttering which can be cemented onto the chute.

Where can I buy square guttering ?

Where do they sell ridge tile locally ?

Any other ideas most welcome.

Thank you m

Hi Denver,

We have a DIY and plumbing shop not far from us, P. Alcatraz e Hijos, in Los Montesinos, where we were able to get an extension piece for our guttering.  If you Google "Bricolaje y Fontanería", you may be able to find somewhere closer to you?

Or perhaps Rodriguez & Moñino, the "Spiderman" tile shop, may have something suitable.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Kim

We went straight there this morning and the chap was extremely helpful, he cut us 2 pieces at a metre long.   The width was exactly what we wanted.

We tried it out on the lower patio and fits perfectly - too windy to go up a ladder do this today.  We will cement it on and seal the back and infill with cotergram if required.

Thanks again for your help.

Well done.  We got a Spanish firm to do ours.  There’s a Perspex roof over what us now a utility area. When it rained heavily, the rain flooded in at such a rate even though the roof seemed water tight. We had the Perspex extended and a drain pipe attatched to the upper overflow which is now attached to the guttering at the side of roof. A final drain pipe placed at an angle will carry all the rain to the urbanisations garden. The whole roof was sealed as well. No more flooding for us!      Most of the time people are unaware that rain can get into their property if not in residential but it can and does. We discovered years ago that a small area on the front of the stair leading to the solarium wasn’t tiled.  We bought one of the tiny tiles used to name houses or a number.  We stuck it into place and that stopped any rain penetrating the house. It pays dividends to check inside and outside after heavy rain to see if the plaster inside has been affected. If so, examine the outside area and seal.

Hello

As soon as we install it I’ll do that, but it’s rather windy at the moment to venture up ladder.   Hopefully later this week.

Hi everyone as promised here is the extended chute.  After trying several option we decided on this.

It’s a ridge tile, cola onto the chute, then plank wood over the original chute and a large clamp over wood and under the tile for 48 hrs until set.  Clean up around and then seal around with more cola etc and  ‘Trex).  You have to shave the tile slightly so it’s flush to the wall under the old chute so it’s at a slight angle.

We tried this but were getting into a bit of a tiss and the credit all goes to my lovely neighbour who is a retired builder, who completed both jobs for us.
