I had a similar problem and, after digging up around every pipe I could not see any water leaking out and I was losing a couple of inches a day.....   Turned out it was being lost around the pool cleaner connection.    I got some expoxy putty, that you need to knead together to activate, and pushed that, under water, around the connector.  Cost me 4 euros and I have had no leak for 2 years....    Worth a try.

Richard in Crevillent    - I have forgotten where I bought the expoxy….

Looks as though you were right about the Hoover connection Richard, but we called John just to make sure, husband said he was a really nice guy who gave him some advice that didn't cost anything. We will do as he advised and will update you when we've filled the pool again.

This site is brilliant for advice. Thankyou

The leaking in a pool could be down to a number of reasons

I suggest you contact leak tech company to do a back pressure test on your pipes and jets to see if the source of the leak is the broken or cracked piping and or the skimmers

If your piping and skimmers as well as you dump are ok then the problem is due to poor re-grouting

Good luck I hope the problem is not due to cracked pipes as to replace is fairly exp

Guess what, we have no leaks now, we bunged up the Hoover hole and no leaks. We can use the strummer for the hoover now, so, so relieved

Thanks for all your help and a big thanks to Richard and John Professional Pool care for coming to see us and giving us a perfect solution without charge.
