Route from Calais in a car

Hi all,
Looking for advice/tips, hotel stops driving by car in January down to this area? Also after 90 days have to return to UK, when can we legally return?

Can highly recommend Via Michelin as a route planner, it gives the best route with detailed information on the location of service stations and where and how much tolls are.

Hi Regina,
Assuming a 'No deal' Brexit and worst-case scenario of UK citizens becoming TCNs (Third Country Nationals), Schengen Travel Zone rules will apply. So if you're going to come in January and stay for a full 90 days, you will need to return to the UK for 90 days before you can enter the Schengen zone again.
Although you say you're driving, you don't say whether you're coming direct to Spain by ferry, or travelling through France. If the latter, you need to remember that France is also in the Schengen zone, so your 90 days (in a rolling 180 days) start to count down as soon as you arrive in France, not Spain - likewise for your return journey. Also, the count starts from the first day you spend any amount of time in Schengen - for example, if you arrive in France at 11.55pm, that is the first day of your 90 days total, even though you were only in the Schengen zone for 5 minutes!

See route below is what we normally do driving down from Newcastle in the North East, we usually stop at Poitiers which is roughly half way in a Camponile there nothing flash but clean and safe. If your starting from Calais then I would suggest Pau area or Bayonne depending which route you take.
Calais-Abbeville-Rouen-Le Mans-Poitiers-Bordeux-Pau-Somport Tunnel-Jaca-Huesca-Zaragoza-Tereul-Valencia down the A7 to N332 or stay on motorway and pay 2 tolls then into Villamartin, tolls are approx 100 euros through France you are toll free in Spain this way.

Really informative. We have travelled by car from Yorkshire to Villamartin 3 times. I love the sound of this route and hope to use it around 18 December - fingers crossed, all being well etc etc.
