Padron & NIE application: Has anyone applied for these already and can advise me of the procedure?

I am danish but perfect to spanish. My husbund and me have tryed last week.

1. Empadronar... you need a contract from the camping site or a letter stating you are living there. They have to mention the address and the owner has to sign.
2. NIE ... this takes time. First to the town hall of your city or police national. . you have to make an appointment... then at the day of your appointment you meet with 2 pictures... then they will fill the paper with all your data or you have to do this my your own... dont forget your passport. After all this procedure you must wait for about 20 days or more. Then you have to meet again to pick your Nie card but you remember you have to pay about 15 euros the day you present fill the aplication.
3. If you do not have time to wait They recommendet an agency to make all the paper work. "GESTORIA". OR AT YOUR EMBASSY. THIS OF COURSE WILL COST MORE.
4. HOPE THIS WILL HELP AND SORRY MY ENGLISH IS NOT SO GOOD. HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND.

Have a look at Citizen´s Advice Spain website, all the info is on there.

The local Pólice National is Elche. You have to be there early to get a number to be seen, we went for 5am for mine, as had missed out going for 7am.

You need evrything you can think of and more.

Passport, address in the UK, address in Spain, photos.

You will need to be able to speak Spanish, or take someone who can.
