Quite. ".....the punitive taxes that Spain levies.....". EU customs regulations, including duties and taxes, existed when the UK was a member of the EU, and we didn't have to pay them. Who voted to leave the EU?

There was much information available online that this would happen , post Brexit & payable from Jan 2021..
With that knowledge, myself & 1000s of others here, changed from shopping on Amazon UK to Amazon.es to avoid the Import tax & Vat that was payable on goods received from ALL 3rd nation countries -- which includes UK), This had been a payable Spanish customs tax for many years.

I disagree. There was an expectation of tax on new purchases and I have always used Amazon.es where possible and have stopped using Amazon UK but I have had to pay 35€ for my own glasses which I dropped in a taxi at a UK airport and 18€ on some photos of my Grandad which my cousin sent me. This is ridiculous.
