Latest Iberdrola Bill

Hello we heard on the Spanish news that they mention gas to produce electricity - we are waiting for our bill now.  Gosh hope it’s a mistake, let us know how you get on at the office please. 

Following with interest just switched last month and had full month bill in of €212 but used 575 kwh as family here, so higher than  normal. My understanding is that tha gas charge is a government price cap.? Not 100% sure but did see it on my Catral cooperative bills before switching basically this charge was almost the same as my usage charge. Never explained this when we signed up good luck let us know how you get on and if anyone had had their  electricity bill from Catral cooperative let us know how much for how many kwh. Thanks

The gas cap came in in July. If you were on the regulated rate with one of the contracted hours (day/night, choose your 8 hours etc) you were kept on that and your bills will have gone down.

If you were on the regulated rate with no contracted hours then you are charged 3 rates depending on the time of day. If, however, you were on the free market then the bills will have gone up considerably.

Now, the gas. The gas is used to generate the electricity so, yes, you are using gas even if you don't have gas itself. The cap means that the gas producers are now providing it at less than they are paying for it.
To compensate the gas company, they are charging a premium to all those on the free rate and those who weren't on a contracted hours plan before April 26th this year.

Marcliff's explanation of the effect of the gas cap on electricity bills is the best I've seen 👍 We're contracted with Iberdrola on Plan Noche until 2026, so we haven't been affected by the introduction of the gas cap.

Yes Mariff is alway up on the news. 

Like you we are on the same system. 

you better hope they dont start charging for the wind that turns all those turbines.
