I think it depends on the type of hair you have, Anne.
A professional experienced hairdresser should recognise whether a client’s hair is fine, thick, porous, etc., without having to tell them myself, although I did point it out ! Even though I shall shortly be 70, I wear my hair long. I have lost it twice during chemotherapy treatment and I certainly don’t want it ruined if it isn’t necessary, I’m sure you understand.
The products/colours they use are not long-lasting either. Even though we returned to try and sort something out they were reluctant to try anything new which might have worked better. Their choice.
My daughter’s hair is waist-length and well-looked after between hairdresser visits. We don’t mind paying €120 a time if we get quality but even the cut wasn’t what we asked for and which was still visible from last hairdresser’s work (incidentally much cheaper and not a 5-hour appointment).
So we are still looking 😂😂😂
