Does anyone have any 1st hand experience/advice about wild boars?  Over the last few days we have been alerted to their presence via our security cams on our patio at our home in Spain.    As we don’t actually live there yet (but planning to over next 18 months)  we are concerned that they might get too cozy and territorial?   Should we be concerned by their visits?

It’s possible they are only looking for water. Some friends used to own a large finca and apparently often used to see them near the house - they had other animals also - trying to drink. She solved the problems by putting large capazas of water near their boundaries - problem solved. They often used to see both parents and offspring trotting down to drink - and then disappearing again. To a degree they are more frightened of you!!

We live surrounded by forest where there are boar hunts periodically and have never seen them.

However, this is not to denigrate your worries or concerns - is your property in the campo? I understand that like most animals they are dangerous when threatend, but it is possible that they may retreat when they are aware of humans in residence.

Oh yes.....I´ve just run out of javali, cazadores son´s would be off looking!.

On a sensible mention.....certainly, like most animals they are dangerous when threatened, certainly if they´ve got with "baby porkers" in tow. as stephanie86 has said!

Thanks Stephanie,

These boars are eating .   Not sure what the fruit is but it looks like white gooseberries .  There is lots of water available .    There are loads of different fruit trees that will be producing throughout the year which is why I’m a little concerned that they might ‘set up camp’

Thanks Steve128,

Hopefully this is how they’ll behave at our place.    I don’t mind if they turn the garden over as it’s compacted like concrete! 😜
