Hi everyone, we’re planning a party in September and trying to anticipate friends coming over from London via Alicante airport... as Cocentaina isn’t easily accessible and taxis very expensive 😱. We’re thinking about arranging pickups to minimise our friends expenses... Either by hiring a minibus or finding someone (at reasonable cost) to facilitate this? Any ideas or recommendations please? Either local van hire or man with van?

Apart from that, as in UK, standard insurance does not cover for hire and reward so in the event of an accident there would be no cover and driver and passengers would risk being fined and the journey terminated immediately if not a licensed taxi service.

I’ve searched through other posts and can ask if it’s correct that a taxi transfer from Alicante airport to Cocentaina is about €200 ??? Seems ridiculously high??

I've found a quote with Sun Transfers for 6 people and suitcases from Alicante airport to Cocentaina return for €200. It is about 70 km each way. A return taxi from Gatwick to Guildford ( only 53 km) would cost about 200 GBP, so in comparison, not a bad price at all, especially if you consider that is only just over €30 per person for the return journey.
