Border Control at Alicante Airport

Well, I must say that the new system (to me) is very good.
I arrived at the airport and checked the board to see where I was going and it was in the B area. I walked near to where you turn right and was greeted by airport staff who asked me if I was EU and he noticed my TIE card in my hand and my passport.
He then directed me to the middle lane where the scanners are. I was told to put my card on the scanner (doesn't matter which way you put it on, he told me as long as it's not sideways). The machine told me to move forward as my face was half way on then the screen, the doors opened to let me through. I went to the desk and he only looked at my TIE card and not my passport.
I was through very fast, less than a minute. I like it!!! I will be coming back from UK next week, I wonder if it is as fast as here in Alicante.
