Hi, does anyone know if there is a limit of how much you can take to Eco Park? We have just removed old tiles and bathtubs from two bathrooms but now I am worried it may be too much to take in there but than again, where else would people be taking it?

Certainly where I am there is no limit, provided that you can provide the licence authorising the work you are doing.

Should go without saying that if you don't have a licence then you shouldn't be doing the work.

We are just normal people that are refurbishing our own flat, what licence would you be talking about? Well, I have posted the question in Cocentaina forum so that's where we are living.

Technically for just about everything you do to your property you will need either a minor or major work's licence from the local Ayuntamiento. In practice, read your deeds, they are not usually specific enough to identify if you have a bath or shower, grey tiles or sky blue pink ones. But yes, you should get one, they don't cost very much at all.
We had a major works licence and used a skip because there is not an ecopark in our area.
Does anyone know for certain that they will ask to see a work's licence at these facilities or will a Padron suffice?

I had to produce my licence, additionally the bloke in charge noted my registration number, presumably to cross check.

To Justyna86, I don't know what it's like where you are.

Here, there's a building inspector who checks on the work carried out, usually just the major stuff. However, I have it on authority from a friend who is a builder and a neighbour, that if he notices work being carried out he will check with the Urbano dept at the council to see whether a licence has been applied for. This supports my experience with my car number being taken. Our local police also pay attention to work going on.

You need a licence to do pretty much anything to your house. It's not difficult and doesn't cost much.

Do it right, do it for your own peace of mind.

The Ecoparc in Cocentaina is very helpful. Just check the times as there are a lot of firas/festas on at the moment. Plastics, metals, woods are the main separation, the guy on the gate is helpful and likes to practice his English. He will direct you to each skip and where you can put your stuff.

Thanks all for replies. We have managed to get it sorted. Just FYI there is a limit of how much you can dump at one time. You can always come back the next day if you can but we had to get it done in one. We went to three Ecoparks and got it done. They have checked for ID but no one asked for any licences.
