I saw recently how 9 people were infected from 1 infected person in a restaurant with A/C.

I went check up on the filters etc, They have what is called a MERV rating which goes from 0 to 20.  20 being the best, these will filter the common cold virus and corona virus at 0.03 microns but are extremely expensive . The Best normally available filters are in the MERV range 14 to 16, they are high efficiency and filter particles  greater than 1 micron.  They are expensive and require regular changes but they do not remove the corona virus!  I saw some doctor on TV recommending  A/Cs blow the air upwards, the worst possible situation for spreading anything, So Heaven help us.

Anyway if anyone really knows anymore about high performance A/C filters please post.

Studies in the US say that talking spreads the virus and that even in a still room it is in the air for up to 14 minutes!

Droplets of bodily fluids - such as saliva or mucus - from an infected person are dispersed in the air or on surfaces by coughing or sneezing.

These droplets can come into direct contact with other people or can infect those who pick them up by touching infected surfaces and then their face.

According to scientists, coughs and sneezes can travel several feet and stay suspended in the air for up to 10 minutes - so not specifically airborne but can linger and be transmitted by forced air and air-conditioning in smaller confined areas if an infected person coughs or sneezes - which may have been what happened in the restaraunt where one person infected 10 others?

See my previous post even in a still room particles exhaled even through talking can last for up to 14 minutes in a still room (even without AC).

I think you ought to stop spreading this sort of information, as it makes some people think of not going out forever.

ok but it is 'science'.......we are at the stage when infection is so low we should concentrate on the vulnerable in our society - the chances of someone under 70, who is not obease or having sever medicl conditions dying from this disease is less likely than being struck by lightning twice!

Oops over 70, 20kgs over weight Oh dear.

Unfortunately as china is seeing now, the one that got away!!, How many infected came to Spain mainly from Italy, 12, 15? That has become 235000 here. New infections today 130+  thats at least 10 future dead I don´t think 10 people were struck by lightning twice today in Spain. I could be wrong, I don´t follow the Spanish press.

We have decided we will not eat indoors at any locale or take any flights and be very careful shopping. Apart from the bullshit Infected to dead is about <10 to 1 over all ages. Obviously we are in an even lower ratio group.

Anyway we will do what we want to do just as others are doing their own thing too!
