Absolutely. Which is why he is so beloved in his homeland and amongst Russians in Spain.
However, if it forces other nations to redouble their efforts or to peer review the Russian science to enable progress then we are all winners in the long run. Especially, as winter approaches.

Yes, very low, but my hope is that the underpinning research and science can be peer reviewed and if, and it's a big if, it's deemed succesful and safe then other countries can copy and mass produce the vaccine before winter arrives.
Personally, I don't care about who wins the 'vaccine race' , as long as we get one to avoid the 100,000s of deaths already witnessed in Europe.

My wife has friends there in Kazan Kirov and family in Moscow. They have told her that a few of her university colleagues and ex work colleagues have passed away in the duration and only one recorded as covid all the others 5 out of 6 “natural causes” - even they don’t believe in the “cure” nor the officially published numbers either
