I don't know if you are aware of a new EU regulation.

From 1st of February COVID-19 Vaccination Certificates are valid for only 9 months (270 days) from last jab.

There are plenty of stupid advices in media to obtain a booster jab if your double jabs are expired... but nobody continues the advice to say - what when booster jab is expired? (as every other jab it works only for certain period). There is no 4th dose in the UK.

It looks like those who had their booster in for example November last year won't be able to enter Spain (EU countries are free to follow the regulation, Spain will do) from August (when 270 days are gone) etc.

My friend has just had a letter inviting her to make an appointment to have a fourth dose - she is one of those people on the extremely clinically vulnerable list, so is prioritised. Hopefully, the rest of us will have a fourth dose in due time.

I've been thinking the same since this was announced, last I heard Spain is keeping this rule until 2023, but no talk about 4th jab.

Your right that it is not clear what will happen if there is no 4th dose and the 270 day limit is reached on the booster dose. I would expect that the next steps will be clearer in a couple of months, I don't think anyone wants to stop people travelling around.

The advice to get a booster jab is so as to keep the immune system to the optimum to help fight off covid, that is regardless of whether you travel abroad or not.

I think that the EU 270 day rule was probably put in place to help encourage people to get a booster, but that's just my view.

Aitch.

The 270 day expiry rule applies to original 1 or 2 jab vaccination and not to a booster - see extract from Gov.U.K. Website on entry to Spain

No, it doesn't say booster doesn't expire.

Apart of that UK does not decide about Spanish rules of entry.

Do you mean this?: "The standard acceptance period does not apply to certificates for booster doses."

It does say that the expiry rule applies to the primary dose ie NOT the booster. It’s my understanding that the Gov.U.K. Website reflects foreign office guidance, so should be giving out accurate information 🤞🙂
