Hi Tracey, myself and my husband moved here just over a year ago,and we chose villamartin. It all depends on what you are looking for.We don't drive, but are avid walkers,so we wanted something close to shops, chemist, bars, dentist and so on.The nearest doctors,or health centre as it is over here is about a 10 minute drive away,so not too far.The facilities are great as most things remain open all through the year.If there is anything you need to know, please get in touch and good luck with your move.

Julie

Hi Tracey, the bus service is only every hour and half, and no service at all at weekends.Depending on what part of Villamartin you will be living,as the area is pretty large,it's takes us about 45 minutes to walk to both beaches at La Zenia and also Cabo Roig, where the health centre is located.

We only go out for holidays so far, but plan to semi-retire there in a few years time. So when we were thinking of location, it had to be just right.....! We stayed in Pau 8, about 15-20 mins walk from the plaza, on holiday and I thought it was just too far to want to buy there. So, where we are now, it’s a 3-4 walk to the plaza and would be perfect for our needs in the future. Eg, at the moment, we hire a car, but in 10 years time we may want to get the bus - Beniconnect drop off at the plaza so a car wouldn’t be necessary.

So, whilst it may be a lovely place, just check out what will work for you on a practical level - it may be a bit more expensive to buy nearer the plaza, but it might be worth it in the end.
