I’m 49 y/o American woman (Jennifer) and my partner is 45 y/o Dutch male (Sam). We just bought a house and land in Camporrobles and will be moving there from Ibiza in the next week. We plan to have our dogs, horses, chickens, etc and a garden while completely renovating the property and house because we enjoy the work and having goals to focus on.

Outside of that, I work in global communications online and he runs an electric bike rental business during the summer in Ibiza.

I don’t have any agenda on here, other than to say hello to everyone :) Maybe something fun to hear from you all for now are favorite restaurants. We can be picky to look for places that have a clean environment and top-quality ingredients, but would love to know any suggestions to try since we’ll be driving and exploring this whole area soon. Curious about all options, but also would especially love to know where good fish, calamari, are… and even kosher/halal options (restaurants/butchers) for when family/friends visit.

Also, any random tips or cool things to do in the area is welcomed! Thank you, and look forward to new adventures in the area! 🥳

Hello Jen

I had never heard of the place you are moving to (confused by your location being Denia) but see it is actually in the Valencian region.

You might get a response from someone on here who has visited your area but most posters are further south towards the Alicante region & beyond, I have added a link to a Valencian ex pat forum that might provide more help for you locally.

Hello Jen, I too was confused by the Denia posting, as I was intending to reply, being about 25 minutes drive from there out in the campo. However, I now see that you are some 200 plus km away, so cannot be of much help! The only comment I can make is that I have never heard of a Kosher butcher here, although of course they may be situated in large cities, ie Valencia, Barcelona, Madrid. But I stand to be corrected by those more knowledgeable! Hope you enjoy your life. Kr Stephanie

Hi Jen I was going to suggest a meet up when I saw that you had put Villena. But on checking where Camporrobles is you are miles from Villena, so I’m a little confused. Good luck with the move 😎

I can drive the distance, but I put the city because it was the closest I could find In the list. It would be nicer if it showed a map to close the city instead of a list… because new people aren’t as familiar with the area yet ;)

regardless, I’d love suggestions for things to do or restaurant’s in ANY of the areas around where I will live… even if it’s a couple hour drive… my goal is to explore and find great little places to visit sometimes 🥳

I'm sure it's already on your list, but I would highly recommend a visit to Valencia city, about a 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from Camporrobles: the distinct areas of the beautiful old town and the modern architecture of the magnificent "City of Arts and Sciences". We used the city tourist bus to familiarise ourselves with both parts of the city, hopping on and off at key locations:
