Hi guys we just brought house here in benidorm and can't move permenantly for 3 yrs. We never got furniture with the house as the owners had great sentiments with the furniture and took with them for their new place.

Anyone know how much it will cost us in import vat and tax if there is any to bring some of our things over like bed and sofa and table and 6 chairs

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately it seems pot luck but  you are more likely to get stopped in a van if you are thinking of bringing them over yourself. If you use a removals company they will deal with all the paperwork for you at a cost. The days of the man and van have long gone due to this.
Spanish bed sizes are different so you will struggle to buy new bedding which will fit correctly and if you order from the UK....you will pay import tax, handling charges etc, sometimes coming to more than the goods actually cost.
When here order from Amazon es or de.
All in all it will probably be cheaper and easier to buy here.

We used White and Company to move our part house move from UK to Spain and they were outstanding. Great communication, dealt with all the paperwork, very professional from pick up to drop off and competitvely priced.

They have depots across the UK but ours was Lancaster and you should speak to John or Debs to give you some direction. Really helpful.

Cheryl is right, nan and van is a thing of the past.

Tax ans Duty exepmtions only apply if used household goods (not new) are brouyght within 6 months from setting up permanent residence. This includes automobiles and professional outfits. Check with your nearest Spanish consulate about paperworkj required for fast and easy customs clearance.
