Just saw a Restaurant advertising 120 euros for Christmas Lunch per person. No entertainment, no Harrods crackers and above all Father Christmas can't make it. So what's that all about I wonder. Extremely expensive.

There are possibly MANY facilities offering what you are looking for!
It would be cheaper to have dinner with Prince Andrew than this.🙄.
They are just 'trying the water' on this one.
Some establishments are a sheer RIP-off!
You can all come to mine for THIRTY bob!..🅱️.

Bryan, It was nice of you to offer that xmas meal but I am afraid I must decline as I dont fancy beans on toast with the cranberry sauce
You do, however make a valid point about people making the effort to try and ensure others are not left spending the whole of xmas day on their own.
On that very point, can I ask if you have ever considered taking the Monkees advice when they sang 'Gonna buy me a Dog ' ( 1966) . ?

Thank you Les...It is like everything else, you either love it or loath it...I am the latter...
I don't have ANY family/children etc, and the season is always a 'non-starter' for me.
My immediate neighbours here, are all 'at home' with their respective families throughout the UK, so nothing is any different for me.
I am also teetotal and don't visit pubs, but this is a 'self-imposed' situation, and I am happy with it. Sad innit?
In my humble opinion, Christmas is far too 'overrated' it has now lost the original 'Christian' aspect...It is just a good excuse for a good 'p##s up. Peace and goodwill to all men, (And women: Sexist!😳)...🅱️.
