This is the only thing we've found that works. Go to a chemist in Spain but its pricey.

Back in the UK it's 4.99 in home bargains or 8.99 in asda. You can bring it with you as it's only 90mls

For indoors I recommend the plug in diffusers from Mercadona, about 4 euros each, refills also sold, plus their good old fashioned mozzie room spray in a tall can. Give bedrooms a good spray five/ten minutes before going to bed, and keep diffuser on all night.  Mozzie screens are of course essential for windows.

Hi welcome. Mercadona do a mozzie spray which is very effective and a reasonable price. Also mozz coils, which come with a little metal stand. Light and place under tables as soon as the sun starts to go down along with spraying yourself. Good luck in your new home 😎

We bought a good quality electronic mozzy zapper from Amazon.es

We keep it on day and night and it definitely works. It can make you jump occasionally when it zaps a larger fly or moth in the evening.

Once its bought there is no replacing sprays etc.

Hi Steve

Can you be specific about which zapper?

Cheers

Hi

Yes, if you go onto Amazon.es and look for.......

Aerb electric mosquito lamp.

The price is around €30 but it does the job!!

We also bought one more just for the bedroom.

Hi Julie and Bill, we bought a house just outside Catral in 2018. The Mosquitos can be a problem in the summer but NOT as bad as some places. We have some citrus trees in the garden which help, but Mosquitos come out more in the evening when the sun is going down. The Mosquitos are blind but go for hot sweaty bodies, when it's getting dark.I wear Fuerte repellents insects, also insecticidal moscas y Mosquitos spray in a yellow spray. Both are reasonably priced from Mercadona.

We also have a plug in zapper to hang up if we say outside.

Below are some tips on how to make yourself less attractive to both Tiger mosquitos and the native Spanish mozzie.
  1. Wear Light Coloured Clothing. ...
  2. Tiger Mosquito Repellents. ...
  3. Avoid Dusk and Dawn. ...
  4. Choose Your Clothing Wisely. ...
  5. Get an Insect Net. ...
  6. Use a Fan. ...
  7. Remove and Avoid Standing Water. ...
  8. Some Plants are Natural Repellents.
