If you see my reply on your duplicated post, have listed the current requirements you need.

The friends you are staying with will be able to advise your nearest clinic for a fit to fly test. Book your test appointment as soon as you arrive, but do not pay in advance for the test.
The U.K. testing requirements are rumoured to be changing from October, you may or may not need this test.

Thanks for the info but my friends do not seem to know much about any of this Covid jargon, so I am a bit on my own regarding info and am trying to find out as much info as I can between now and Tuesday evening. I actually do not know anyone who has gone  and come back from Alicante recently,

regards Maureen

Hi,

I would say get there slightly earlier at Gatwick, the airline checks that you have completed the Spanish Health form and that you have proof of vaccination, this adds a little time to check-in. If fully vaccinated you do not need to take any tests before travelling to Spain.

When returning to the UK - at the moment, book and take a antigen test within 72 hours of your flight leaving. They cost about 40euro in Spain and are available at lots of places. Book a day 2 test and enter the reference number on the UK passenger locator form that you must complete no earlier than 48 hours before travel.

As advised by Lynn, the rules are rumoured to be changing today, so some of the requirements for returning to the UK may change, so keep an eye on the news this evening for updates.

I travelled Gatwick - Alicante - Gatwick in July, no issues going or returning.

I used Testing4all for my UK tests and IMED Torrevieja for my antigen test.

Rgds, Aitch.

Hi

For the fully vaccinated the UK gov have announced today that the pre return covid tests from none “red” countries will no longer be required from 4th October.

If you are returning to the UK before the 4th October, antigen tests are available for c. €35 from Polyclinica Omega, Av. de la Generalitat 57, El Campello, tel. 00 34 966 283 899.

Regards

Tony

Thank you to everyone who has replied and helped me with my upcoming trip to visit my friends who live near El Campello, it is very gratifying to know that there is so much help and knowledge out there. I am now on my own, my darling husband passed away last October (non covid related) and although I used to arrange everything online he actually hated everything about the journey was only happy once he was there!!

I am now travelling to Gatwick an hour earlier,

Now everything 'appears' to be getting better perhaps it will be a lot easier for future travellers to Europe, regards Maureen

Don't forget you need to do Locator forms online both for Spain and UK . Complete 48 hours before you land in either country.

Your mobile QR code should be fine - it was for us albeit we flew from Manchester.
