No limits/restrictions for EU citizen, after 6 months some formalities apply depending on your personal circumstances.
Everybody should apply for Residency within 90 days of moving to Spain, EU passport holder or not. After 183 days you become tax resident.
Technically correct but as nobody is tracking your movements practically you can stay as long as you wish - as Brits used to be able to do until they shot themselves in both feet!

From the Embassy of Ireland, Spain:
Quote "those who want to reside in Spain for more than three months have to apply for a Certificate of Registration in the Oficina de Extranjeros"
You will also need to apply for an NIE.

All true but doesn't alter what I said 🙂

So if an Irish National registers as you suggest how does this affect their non-EU spouse?

The non eu spouse can get residency off the back of the Irish passport holder.

But can they stay longer than 90 days as their EU spouse can ?
