Hi all

We are Brian and Clare from Newcastle, England and we have just bought a property on La Finca since selling our place in Cyprus after 15 years.

Slightly worried about remote location of La Finca but hoping that on site amenities are good enough with taxi rides to Quesada and beyond if alcohol is needed ( it often will be !)

What is life on La finca like ? Are you lot friendly :)

Any advice or guidance appreciated or simply a Hola would be good.

Take care look forward to catching up.

Brian ( and Clare over me shoulder)

Hi Brian and Clare, and welcome to the forum!

I don't live in Algorfa, but I visit it regularly, including the restaurants at La Finca (Baybrooks is our favourite).  We also have friends who live at La Finca.  The attraction of the golf course means that the feel of the place varies dramatically through the year, quiet out of season and very busy during holiday periods.

We have a somewhat frustrating taxi system here, whereby, if you get a taxi from, say, Algorfa to Quesada, you can't book the same taxi to return you to home - you'd have to take a Quesada taxi instead.  Taxi licences are issued by the Town Halls, so I'd recommend obtaining a list of the taxi numbers for your regular destinations, so that you can book in advance.

Congratulations on your purchase - enjoy!

Kind regards,

Kim

Almoradi is a good place to visit, your nearest big Mercadona  ( supermarket),a good Lidl,a huge Street market on a Saturday and a host of furniture shops .Big swimming pool, vibrant bars and restaurants grouped round a huge central town square, this square seems to have some kind of activity every couple of weeks, car shows, craft fairs etc ,the only downside is that a car is a great plus as the Spanish bus service is dire at best.Bearing that in mind,Almoradi has a big bus station so from there you can get to other towns if you have the time and lots of patience
