No it's not normal to be waiting this long!!!

If you put all the required information and documents in a year and a half ago then your lawyer is spinning you a lie.

Some of your documents will be out of date now especially the Padron.

Are you living here in Spain now?

Did you apply for residency with a valid NLV? If your lawyer hasn't presented the documents correctly then even the NLV could be invalid now.

Challenge your lawyer, I know there has been some delays recently but a year and half is ridiculous. I'd have expected it to have been done within weeks.

Hi Sue

I know from our own experience that it can take time in this area (you are not far from us). Further South they seem to come through far quicker for some reason??? We applied for ours in Oct 2020 and it was finalised in June 2021.

I do though think yours is taking far longer than it should. More pressure on your lawyer I would suggest as you don't want to have to re apply under current requirements.

If you're trying to apply under the WA terms it may be too late unless you have already submitted your documents and they've been accepted by immigration or waiting appeal. Your lawyer should have this information.

Try these people....https://asociacionbabelia.org/en/applying-for-residency-in-spain-under-the-withdrawal-agreement-after-2020/

.....and change your lawyer
