I am filling in a banking document, and after I completed my address, including which country I reside in,  there is a line for “Codigo Pais” which google tells me is “country code”. Anyone know what this means in relation to an Irish address? Thanks.

According to Google Translate it is the phone dialling code, so in the case of Ireland +353 or +44 for Northern Ireland.

Thanks, John. They haven’t looked for a phone number, so the phone code looks a bit strange, but it’s a decent shout, so I’ll probably go with that. Thanks for the help.

Cheers, Ray. I’ve stuck that in.

Thanks for the help.

Isn't there any small print on the form which tells you what they mean by código país, or are they asking for it in conjunction with a telephone number?

As well as the international dialling code, it could also be IRL, 372, or an ISO number.

Hi Jim,

No small print, and no reference to phone number. I took the advice above and stuck in the phone code and IE for Ireland (could have put in IRL either). Hopefully they won’t be too pedantic! Thanks for the help.
