Thank you so much.  That doesn't sound too bad at all.  Thank you for your good wishes too.

Take care and keep safe.

Got a phone call today for both of us to get our first vaccines done today, which we did in Crevillente this morning - took all the original documents that we took to get our SIPs (Padron, Passports, NIE).

They booked us in for the second jab on 10th August (the quickest you can have them is 21 days after the first one).  We just need to go to the Crevilliente to get our SIPs renewed as they will expire before then, which we will do a couple of days beforehand.

Thank you everyone for all your help on here.

When we registered for temporary SIP cards we had to produce the EHIC cards. Does your husband have one of these?

No - our EHIC cards ran out about 2 years ago.  Nobody asked to see them.  We had to provide evidence of our Private Medical Insurance and tell them we only needed the SIP for the Covid vaccine and nothing else.

Hi

We went back to Crevillente Health Centre today and told them we needed the SIP for the covid19 vaccination only.  This time they set up one for my husband and added both our names to a hand written Covid Vaccine sign-up sheet.  They said we will receive a phone call with our vaccinatio...

...n appointments.  I am assuming we go back there to the same place for the vaccinations?

Thank you for your help.

If you are needing to get back urgently I definitely wouldn't rely on getting the vaccine. You would need to be double jabbed and can't travel to the UK until 14 days after the 2nd one and at present would still need to isolate for 10 days.

Do as Lynn says and get yourself a test to get on the plane, a Day 2, Day 8 test and Day 5 to release if necessary. You can't avoid the 2 and 8 even if you do the Day 5. With 10 days quarantine at least you'll be in the country.

Good luck

Thank you so much for your help and advice, especially regarding having to wait two weeks after the second vaccination.

Thank you for your help.  I am 52 and my husband is 54.  We were of the understanding that England would accept both vaccinations regardless of which country they were done in, in order to avoid the self-isolation rule when arriving in the UK, however, I am now starting to think this on...

...ly applies to UK residents who have had both vaccinations done in the UK and are returning home, i.e. from holiday abroad, who can avoid self-isolation.

Do you know if it is necessary for us to register with the social system, or if having the temporary SIP cards will be enough for us to automatically get into the system for the vaccinations?

My husband had all his paperwork with him when we went to the medical centre, so I don't know why they refused to do his SIP card (they said we had to register with the social in Elche before they would do his).

We will go back to the medical centre and try again to get his SIP.

Thank you so much for your advice and help.  It is much appreciated.

As far as I’m aware you’ll have to go into quarantine for 10 days the only exception being two Covid jabs administered in the U.K. EU digital Covid certificates are not yet recognised in the U.K. very frustrating. Hope you get sorted.

Thank you.  Yes you are correct, the UK won't recognise the Spanish vaccines.  The vaccines are ok for the EU and as England are no longer part of that they will only accept vaccines by the NHS in order to avoid self-isolating for 10 days.  I did read that they are trying to change this, but who knows how long that could take.

Thanks so much for your help.  Take care and keep safe.

Once you are in the system, and you probably are now, they will text you to the Spanish mobile number, I was in the same boat - older and missed band. The Centro de Salud did the first then I received a text invite to the 2nd at a a mass vaccination centre in town.

Hope it works through ;-)

I also moved back here last October. I was given a 6 month SIP card to get my vaccinations. I provided my passport, Padron and EHIC card.

I’m 65 and missed out on my age bracket roll out. Vaccinations are now being arranged locally by your Salud. Mine, Cabo Roig, do not have AZ atm, so I’m still having to wait. Chase your local Salud.

Also, I ended up in hospital 2 weeks ago and had my gallbladder removed. As I had a SIP card, I was covered despite it being only temporary. I tried to explain that my medical insurance would cover the costs but they insisted my SIP covered me. Brilliant service tbh.
