If the car is RHD it's not easy anymore.

Not worth it unless it's very high value vehicle or a classic.

Do yourself a favour and sell it.

It's not necessarily hard but can be costly.

If it's a relatively modern car only bring it if you intend to keep it and run it into the ground.

Yes used cars are expensive here but once you offset the cost of getting it here, registering, and the seriously depressed resale values (unless giving away Spanish will never buy RHD) buying locally doesn't look so bad in comparison.

On the road the RHD-v-LHD argument is entirely personal so don't be swayed by those who are vehemently anti RHD who are probably speaking through imagined fears rather than practical experience.

If you don't have COC or get get one from the manufacturer better forget it. There are taxes and fees depending on age and make imposwsible to estimate. As an example I brought a brand new Passat from Germany worth 31K and paid a bit less than 2K doing all the paperwork myself in 2 days.

 Do not worry about driving a RHD car in Spain, i've driven one for several years and there is no issue really as far as I am concerned. 

You should be aware that emission control areas are being introduced in Spain, supposedly this year in some areas. If you have a older car then it may be restricted on where it can be driven, especially older diesels. Some info on the N332 website:

COC is easily available on line for European spec car since RHD approx €120. My friend has just registered a Toyota that he bought new and Toyota supplied the COC for free.Used cars are so expensive in Spain I think it’s a sensible thing to bring a UK car and register it if you like the car.I strongly recommend using a professional.Two years ago I bought a Beetle convertible for £500 in the UK,at the time they were at least €5000 here.Also I don’t think anyone would steal a RHD.I wouldn’t hesitate to bring another.

We imported our RHD car in 2021. We used car-registrations-spain.com and total cost incl taxes, paperwork, changes to lights, ITV etc was 1200 € for a 6 year old 1.6l Mini Cooper S coupe . I can highly recommend you get in touch and they will answer all your questions. Excellent service.

We have no issues at all using our rhd mini in Spain, although it can be a bit awkward at the local shopping centre car park if either of us go on our own. That's it though.

We have had the car since new so, knowing the history, it made sense to bring it with us rather than sell it.

I would highly recommend speaking to an expert to get a ball park figure  including import duty and IVA, plus what the exact proceedures are. 

Plus if you have things like a tow bar or aftermarket wheels, or any changes from standard, tell them, as it may prevent the registration procedures. I was unable to bring my Saab out here because the modifications on it (better brakes and suspension) were not allowed here without a realmof paperwork and engineers reports.

I was happy to drive my RHD car in Europe until I needed to use a car park or motorway toll booth. That became tiresome pretty quickly.
