Does anyone know when we can have bonfires again? The permit I obtained last year states "From 17th October". I remember last year that this was put back a few weeks due to the dry summer.

My permit is undated, in that it doesn't have a start or end date printed on it. So does that mean it is still current, or will I have to get a new one?

I have sent the Town hall an email, but not yet had a response.

Thank you.

The rules and regulations for each town can be slightly different.   Best to get an answer from your local ayuntamiento.

I am in the process of doing this at the moment.  I sent an email to the Ayunt. asking for a replacement permit and attached last year's certificate as a pattern.  No hopes!!  That's far too easy.

They replied that I have to phone and make an appointment and do the whole process again.  Talk about jobs for the boys.

The burning period tends to run from October to May plus or minus a bit.

I have had no reply to my email to tye  town hall. Someone told me I can get a permit from the tourist office, which is where (I think) I got mine from last year.

Mine has no date of issue or expiry on it, and says nothing about having to renew it, annually or otherwise. Probably best not to take a chance though, so I'll try to renew it.

Half decent band playing in the square at the moment which was unexpected. Nice accompaniment to my beer in the sunshine

My last year's permit did not have any expiry date either, so, like you I thought that it would just keep running.  A friend told me that it needs to be renewed annually.

One has to ask why they don't put any meaningful dates on the thing.

Enjoy the band and beer!!  No sun here at the moment but it's quite warm.

We live in Catral and we can collect a burning licence free of charge from our local police station tomorrow or Thursday, then every month after that. We keep a record of them just in case you get a neighbour complaining. We had a problem earlier in the year with a neighbour calling the police, we just showed our license and everything was fine

Hi All,

Can anyone advise me if there are any banks that charge less than the 16 euros each month I currently pay Santander on their one account. It's only to pay direct debits, I don't need a card etc....

I am currently in the UK, so woukd be great if I didn't need to come over.

Hi  Stefan,

Unfortunately your post has got into the bonfire and permit correspondence.

But never mind.  I also would like to know the answer to your question, so if you get a reply please let me know.

Thanks

CM

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Hi Stefan,

The permit chat is only about having to get a licence from the local town hall to have a bonfire.  You can only have a fire between October and May plus or minus a bit.  Just a bit more Spanish bureaucracy.

Sorry to hear you got cleaned out, there is nothing worse than a burglary.  We had one a few years ago after which we installed an alarm  Horse and stable door come to mind..  I hope your insurance covers you.

I'm not far from  you.  In between Sax and Villena.

Brgds
