I have attended at least 20 Spanish lessons but find the teachers focus too much on grammar, etc. I would like to spend time talking to Spanish person about daily things e.g. asking directions, asking about health and family, etc. Any suggestions? I am in Albatera but willing to travel.

Tx!

Hi Daniela,

Try Uriel. She teaches at your home or in her home in Quesada. Tel. 616 10 12 05.

Rojales operate a free Intercambio scheme where they team you up with a spanish person who wants to improve their English and you then arrange to meet with them informally/

Hi

As a learner of Spanish as well, you can’t speak a new language without learning grammar, this may be disappointing to you but it comes eventually, Speaking from experience from a learner that didn’t know English gra

Hello Daniela

I know you from Costablancaexpats!   We expats will never speak conversational Spanish no matter how hard we try.   My wife is a linguist; degrees in Russian and French: speaks English to University level plus some Italian, Maltese and Arabic. (!)   She admits that Spanish is a language that she will never conquer and has no desire to do so.

I can converse with my Spanish neighbour but I don´t give a damn about grammar, as do most Spanish I think....

Just speak with as many Spanish people that you encounter and you will be able to converse in 10 or 20 years...

Kind regards

Richard

Hi Kat has just started a group at bar el sol in Almoradi. She is concentrating on speaking Spanish without getting bogged down in the grammar first. The class is on a Thursday afternoon 4-5 pm only been one so far so little catching up I you want to join us.

I am currently attending Spanish lessons and would recommend the teacher Mark Powell. He provides one to one lessons, small or large groups, and Spanish lessons on Skype, check out if it is what you are looking for by emailing him at [email protected].

I'm so envious of you all. Unfortunately I had to return to the UK and miss living in Spain more than I could ever imagine. Well done all of you for trying to and learning the language. I learnt from the locals and they welcomed me into the community. I will never forget my life in Crevillente and wish you all the very best for the future x
