Hi I am just wanting to know what it is like to live in Daya Nueva. My husband and I are in our late 40s and are thinking of moving to Spain but not sure where. Is it a quiet place or is there a little buzz to it. Has the floods affected the area badly. Any info would be of help Thank you.

We moved to Daya Nueva 2 years ago from a large urbanisation and it is the best thing we did. It is very peaceful with lovely countryside all around and mountain views. The village has a butcher, bakers, Farmacia, supermarket (well stocked with deli) a weekly market (albeit small but functional) and several bars and restaurants serving good quality food. The fiestas are always good fun with many locals taking part. Apart from all these positives we are only a 10 minute drive to the beautiful beach of Guardamar. Estate Agents Benigest in Benijofer and Villas Amarillas in Quesada are worth looking at if you are thinking of purchasing a property. Good luck

Hi, we moved to Daya Vieja the next village to Daya Nueva, both are pretty much the same.

We chose here for pretty much the same reasons as Sally has stated, our village has pretty much the same facilities but no weekly market.

Both are great choices,  everyone knows someone who can help you in the event of you having any problems, or plumbing, electric, building repair etc,  estate agents in nearby Benijofar especially Casas Manuel who are on UK TV with TV series are excellent.

If you go ahead pm for details of excellent solicitors. The villages are as Sally says well positioned for local beaches , good supermarkets, airport approx ,30 minutes depending on traffic, both also have excellent bars and reastruants which attract people from far and wide as they provide great food and great prices.

Lovely walks.

We think it's a hidden gem and love it.

Hi everyone I hope you are keeping safe and well. Before COVID-19 we were doing some research into purchasing a holiday home. It's just my husband and I looking for peace and quiet but at the same time somewhere to go for food and a drink. People have suggested Jacarilla but I've recently come across Daya Neuva appreciate your thoughts on the village for a holiday home for two late 40 year olds....and what it would offer compared to Jacarilla. Many thanks

We also wanted somewhere quiet but with amenities not far away. We purchased in Daya Vieja next to Daya Nueva , Vieja is smaller but still has everything we need, restruants, village pub, bakery, small shop, hairdresser, church village hall, doctor and chemist. Supermarkets and other bars, beaches are only 5 minutes drive. We have a lovely old fashioneded village feel with lovely community spirit. Everyone helpful, someone always knows someone who can sort out any problems. We stumbled on the village but we love it.

Hi,

I am considering purchasing a duplex apartment in Daya Vieja sometime in the future.  I would appreciate your experiences of day to day life in this village.

I am trying to avoid the 'Little Britain' or 'Blackpool in the Sun' scenario as I prefer a little bit of the Spanish feel and a quieter environment.

Thanks in advance for any hints, tips and advice.

Ian
