Hi there,

We are looking at buying a holiday apartment in Deya Nueva and more specifically, we have seen a property on Av. de Almoradi.

We have been to other parts of the Alicante region, but not here in person. It would be great to hear from anyone living/holidaying in this location as to what it's like and any pros and cons.

The area looks lovely and we've researched online via google maps/ YouTube/ online community's but it would be great to get a sense of what it's like from real people!

We would be coming out only for holidays - around 4/5 times a year.

Many thanks,

Laura

Hi  Laura

Daya Nueva  and Daya Vieva  are both  beautiful  country  villages  and  mostly  Farming  industries.

Some  degree  of  Spanish  would be  required   and a Car  is  essential  as  main  supermarket   at 10  drive. You do  get  more  Property  for  your  money 💰  Public transport  not great. Some  Properties  can  take  a  few  months  to  sell.

It  has  a  beautiful   Village or Council  Swimming pool  that opens for 4 or 5 months  of  year.  A  drive to  good  Beaches  approx  35  minutes.

Best of luck with your  decision 👍

A couple of websites that may have some general information for you:

Citizens Advice Bureau Spain for bureaucratic stuff, and

N332 for anything to do with driving in Spain.   The website, and their Facebook page, is for English speaking people and is run in collaboration with officers of the Guardia Civil.

Hi there,

thank you so much for your reply that’s really helpful. It does sound wonderful!

Do you happen to know if the few restaurants in the village stay open all year round?

Looking forward to visiting as soon as we can!

Many thanks,

Laura

There's a British bar https://www.facebook.com/Imanyobar/?locale=es_LA

As the village is a working Spanish village most bars & restaurants are open all year round. It's within easy cycling range of a number of similar villages and the larger town of Almoradi. You would probably need a car for visits to the coast and it's possible to drive to Guardamar in around 15 to 20 mins.

I would strongly recommend that you rent in the area before committing to buy. Spanish village life isn't for everyone.

Good luck

Daya Nueva is a small friendly town in a farming area. Avenida de Almoradi is surrounded by lemon groves. You can cycle or walk into Almoradi along the irrigation canal and under the motorway into Elbanet a small urbanization on the edge of Almoradi.

It's a 15 min drive to the beach at Guardamar.

I have lived in this street for 7years  now but bought the flat 18years ago I love it here, there is a good mixture of nationalities but all get on , veiws from the flats are amazing and the roof top swimming pools are small but adequate, it is in a good area with plenty of towns around with shops of all kinds and the seaside is only 20mins away so I can recommend it to anybody

Laura, we moved to D Nueva from Andalusia. This area is flat so ideal for walking, cycling.  We are 25 mins from Alicante  a port and about 15 mins to Guadamar beach.  Small shop in village, pharmacy, doctor, a few bars & restaurants. Imanyo bar serves food too & has a good mix of people. Whilst we bought a new villa I would respectfully suggest that you rent somewhere before committing to buy.  As this is a mainly farming area sometimes there are "whiffs".... There  are a few large towns just a short drive away so here is central.   The very best of luck whatever course you go.   Mary
