Hi

We are flying into Alicante this week and want to hear about how well EES is operating at the airport (or not!). We visited in Jan and it wasn't too bad, so hoping for the same!

Also, if any issues at departures, especially timescales in getting through would be helpful.

Thanks

Steve

It seems we are going to get this question every time someone uses Alicante airport.

It's fine and working well. No problems but it could be different on the day you arrive for several reasons.

Steve, bit late reading your post so you are probably already here:

In general EES is causing extended waits in many places around the EU but fortunately in Alicante the airport are handling it well, at least that's been my experience.

When we arrived on April 8th airport staff were directing all UK passport holders into the area where the EES registration m/c's are located. As we had already registered on a previous visit in February we avoided going into the registration queue and went straight to the e-gates in front of the border control desks.

When our passports were read and photo compared a message popped up saying something like "wait for assistance" - then after about 10 seconds the gate opened, out to the border control booth, passport stamped and on our way.

Note: that was pre EES going live on April 10, hopefully it is still the same.

Leaving Alicante in March, no issues at all.

Rgds,

Aitch.

Thanks Aitch

That was also our experience as well, we were out of the airport within 30 mins of landing - very well handled, although if busier I'm sure it would have been slightly longer

That's good news, glad it went well.
