I have been told that it is cold in denia
I am considering Denia as permanent relocation. Compared to the UK how long is the cold season? Is there a lot of rain? Is anybody regretting their move there?
Thanks Annie

Hi Annie,
Yes it does get cold especially at night, heating is a must, like most Med countries when it rains it rains, and roads get flooded, but dry out relatively quickly. We have found Feb and March tend to be the coldest and wettest months. Would strongly suggest if you are thinking of buying to rent first. Denia in our opinion is an excellent choice especially if you speak a little Spanish.

Even in the cold season if its 16 and sunny with no wind it's like British summer time!

Thank you, I am coming out at the end of September for a few weeks to have a look around (or sooner if the house sells)! I am trying to learn Spanish. I think renting is a sensible idea but I have two smallish dogs and I have heard a lot of rentals won't accept them, is this true? Your weather reports are reassuring!
Hasta pronto
Annie

Hi Annie, I believe you are right a lot of rentals do not accept dogs. We are in the final stage (hopefully) of purchasing a property in Denia. If you do buy get a good solicitor. Our purchase has not been easy although we did loads of research. Good luck.
Richard
Hi Richard,
Thanks for the information, it's all a bit daunting but I hope I'm ready for a new challenge! I hope your purchase will run smoothly from now.
I'm sure I will have a lot more questions and I am so happy to have found this forum. You will all be fed up with me!
Thanks again!, Annie

Hi Richard
Looking back through old posts ( as we are doing research on Denia and hoping to buy), and came across your post from 2018 where you mentioned you were in the final stage of purchasing etc. BTW Hope that eventually went ok for you🙂
Looking back in hindsight, is there any advice, things you would do differently with your property purchase? As we are about to start this journey, any advice, recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks
Marie

Hi, Marie apologies I have only just spotted your post! We did not buy the Denia property as the owner could not produce any licences for Habitation or for work completed. We ended up with a doer upper in Moraira. I assume owing to the age of the post advice now is not required?
